Mossgate makes gear for solo overnights — one tent, one bag, one pad. People ask us the same handful of things at the register and on email. Here are the honest answers.
Why only three products?
Because a solo overnight is three problems: a roof, a layer of warmth, and a barrier between you and the cold ground. Solve those three with the lightest honest spec and most trips are covered. We'd rather make the tent, bag, and pad good than make a catalogue.
What does "fast-pitch" actually mean?
The Ridgeline 1P uses a single DAC alloy pole. From bag-open to taut fly, one person should be done in about three minutes on flat ground. That's not a marketing number — it's the test we run on every prototype. Wind, slope, frozen stakes, and tired arms all slow it down. We won't pretend otherwise.
Is the Embergrade 30 warm enough for shoulder season?
The comfort rating is 4°C and the lower limit is -2°C. For most three-season trips in temperate latitudes that's the right bag. Add a liner and a beanie when the forecast dips. Don't take a 30°F bag into a 10°F night — no spec sheet survives that math.

What if something tears in the field?
The tent and pad both ship with patch kits in the box. Replacement poles, pad valves, and zipper sliders are sold separately so you don't have to retire a piece because of one component. Drop us a line at support@babyhavenllc.shop with a photo and we'll point you to the part.
Where do I start?
If you've never done a solo overnight before, start with the kit and a local trail you already know. The numbers on the tag are the floor, not a dare. Pitch the tent once in the backyard before you trust it on a ridge. That's the whole job — make the first night easy enough that there's a second one.
